  1. Nothing like a little R&R I thought to myself. And damned if  I didn't deserve
  2. it! It's  been one mission after another for as long as I can  remember. Ever 
  3. since  that new  threat to world security,  Notlob, came out  of  nowhere to 
  4. threaten mankind's existance with his network of interdimensional portals and
  5. army of ungodly mutants my life has consisted of putting out one fire after 
  6. another. But now, at last, I can focus on what's REALLY important.. that 
  7. brunette about to put some suntan oil on her ample.. Hey! what idiot is blocking
  8. my view?! That is when I notice the two pairs of highly polished military boots
  9. which belonged to two strapping, world security soldiers. Damn! This is not a
  10. good sign. The first soldier clears his throat and begins speaking. My mind
  11. starts wandering but I can still hear bits and pieces of what he is saying.. 
  12. "Threat to world security....  Notlob....  please accompany us to the Secretary
  13. General's office.." Crap! With one last wistful look at the brunette I get my
  14. towel and sunglasses and accompany to the two men to their waiting jeep.

  16. The secretary general looked up from his notes with an almost apologetic smile,
  17. "Sorry to interrupt the vacation we promised you would have, but Notlob has
  18. given us no choice. Intelligence has discovered his latest base of operations,
  19. and not a moment too soon I might add. We managed to insert one of our covert
  20. stealth droids inside and the reports it sent back were not good. It appears
  21. that the base is still under construction though progessing rapidly. From the
  22. reports sent back we gather this base will be used as a jump station to one that
  23. is located on the Moon. From there Notlob will be able to direct his missions
  24. as well as keep reinforcing his diabolical army with impunity. This base must
  25. be closed down.. PERMANENTLY.. and the Moon teleporter secured. The droid has
  26. ascertained that Notlob is not currently at the base but security there is still
  27. high and very formidable. You will make a high altitude parachute drop on to
  28. the roof of the compound. The droid reports that the security camera is not
  29. yet in place and the outer door has not been secured. Once inside however,
  30. things will be much more difficult. The droid advises that there are multiple
  31. laser trip wires placed throughout the installation that will trigger immediate
  32. security attention, proceed with caution. The installation itself resembles a
  33. spoked wheel with four sections. The Moon teleport is heavily guarded and not
  34. accessible until you have secured the three other heavily guarded sections 
  35. and activated the controls. The rest of the report is fragmented due to the
  36. energy interference as the Moon teleport is undergoing initial testing. Our
  37. intelligence officers were able to make out the following phrases.. (jump tube,
  38. radiation pool, maze, pumping station, contruction, exposed water entrance,
  39. and unknown and lethal life forms..) before all communcations with the stealth
  40. droid were cut off. We have not been able to figure out what they mean to the
  41. mission but hopefully it will be of use to you. We are counting on you to close
  42. down this latest threat from Notlob before he can use it! Good Luck and God
  43. Speed Major!"

  45. I was whisked away to the waiting jet and took off on my latest Save the World
  46. mission. A nagging thought kept creeping into my mind.. sooner or later my luck
  47. would run out right? ... Naaah! No homicidal maniac named Notlob was going to
  48. beat me! But as I leapt from the plane and descended into darkness I wondered
  49. what nasty surprises he had instore for me this time....
